This really shouldn't come as a surprise. The PS4 was released and everyone is rolling around in the next gen experience while I sit here with my PC that can barely outperform my PS3. Upgrading my PC is one thing, but new consoles always seem to tempt me in some way or another. Has the PS4 really caught my attention enough to make me want to buy it? The short answer is no. The long answer is... longer...
Honestly, what is the point Sony? Why should I buy this £400 console with only 2 games? Well here is the answer. Look back to the release of the Nintendo 64. How many games did that have on release? oddly enough it was only 2. One of them of course being a Mario title and the other was something about flying planes. I don;t know, I didn't own it. With this in mind, take a look at the amazing titles that hit the N64 soon after launch. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Lylat Wars, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo and Kazooie. I could go on.
So what am I trying to say here? I'm saying that Sony still has a shot with Infamous: Second Son, Final Fantasy XV, Elder Scrolls Online and other titles. Sadly, games you would expect to be PS4 exclusives such as Metal Gear Solid and Kingdom Hearts have hopped to the Xbox One as well. I bet Sony are biting their nails about that one. Let's just hope that Capcom repay the favour with some exclusives.
So to summarise my opinion, I wont be getting a PS4 until 2014. The games that really make the console stand out are not even out yet so what's the point? I'll go grab a Wii U to fill in the time until then.
